Once again, Eisenstein directs the tide of filmmaking and the changes occurring through his work. This is straight propaganda as it directly tells the story of the Russian revolution and uses editing and titles to make you root for the revolutionaries. This is film is not as powerful as Potemkin to the effect of making you care about the characters you're watching and rooting for their success but it does successfully employ associative editing to make you care generally about the cause of the revolutionaries and feel like their efforts are on the winning side of history.
