This is a very romantic and by our standards “schmaltzy” love story that is the template for how to make an old style romantic lost love film. The movie is well done though even though the storyline seems a bit forced and rushed. That being said the story is sweet and gentle and really touches a true nerve in the romantic sense. This is an example of the "Love Story" becoming more and more popular with American audiences as Celebrities and Stars start to dictate what stories and films are made. Audiences begin to want their household known celebrities to be in certain roles and film storylines, especially as the sound era has made them more lifelike than ever conveying all of their personality both looks and voice to the American audience. And people want to see their favorite celebrities fall in love more than anything so they can gossip about it.
