#178 - Battle of San Pietro (1945)

August 24, 2018

A highly unique and bold war documentary featuring footage that had never been seen before in terms of the real life cost and brutal reality of warfare. The film is interesting in regards to the editing and the voice over used although it's still a little stale. The authenticity of the footage is obviously impressive and pertinent.

This film is important in as much as everything you are watching is real. This is the reality of war. It’s changed the morality of the time. I think this film reflects the shockwave that was WW2 in changing the moral compass of humanity to something that is far more grey and nuanced than the previous Good vs. Evil Christian dynamic.
