#28. The Eagle (1925)

July 13, 2018

This was a good kind of shlocky swashbuckler film in the same vein as The Thief of Baghdad. Not much to it apart from the faux action sets and costumes and dashing good looks of the main actor. The storyline was entertaining albeit a remake of Robin Hood in a way. This film definitely helped propel the swashbuckler film genre into the public demand in a way that would really yield a mass escapist cinema trend in the 1930's.
